The Plateau and The Party

Mar 19
8h wake up and face my biggest challenge in france thus far... i cannot speak english for 24 hours.. no matter what.. and we're off
9h hw/internship search
13h taxi it to plateau

14h hike it back home... not sure that anyone knows the way home.. but fortunately the boucheron has plenty'o experience in path finding and also.. i have a phone.. so worse case i can call that super nice taxi man.. on y va!
14h30 make a big loop around the plateau... not a good start... lets try that again
15h doing pretty darn good.. following path number 1 or 12 or whatever, i dont hike... but whichever path designated by the bright yellow butterfly.. we are rocking it!

15h30 take pics of the views, of each other, of the chickens... and then hit a fork in the "road"... left or right... boucheron says right, tintin says left... i am not near anything a taxi can find.. so i just don't vote. in the end we go left down an itty bitty path into the woods
16h as we go deeper and deeper into the shire the path becomes a muddy trench and we all slow down quite a bit as to not slip and fall. the boucheron hands me a giant walking stick... seeing as that i am struggling the most in my not so athletic old nave tennis shoes

16h30 some how we make it out of the shire onto a road and back to civilization.. the first thing we see at the bottom of the mountain is a house with a pool... wierd. now the hard part... walk all the way back to town from this suburb.. we start following the road.. then we see a bus stop so we know we are generally on the right path. past the first nice neighborhood ive seen in clermont and arrive in an industrial park.. walk in zigzags and semi-circle trying to get out.. we all slowly piece together our memories of the taxi ride so that we can recognize certain landmarks

17h some how we make it allll the way back ot my house!! bon travail ladies and gents... and shockingly enough, im still speaking french!
17h-18h noah, anthony and i watch a few episodes of the office.. on the big screen.. with chips and beer.. oh yea
18h get the call from claudine.. another french dinner party... i am so in.. boys leave.. i get ready.. googlemap directions and im off
18h30 get off tram, turn left at gas station.. look for number 9... call claudine to say im here.. no ans.. so i try the gate.. its open.. then i try the door.. its open... a woman looks at me very shocked.. and i say is this claudine's.. and she's like no.. and u could have knocked.. i say.. well this is the address i was given so my bad (thinking u should learn to lock ur doors lady).. then she's like oh theres another number nine on the same street right next to here.. how the CRAP do they get mail.. when there are 2 number nines right next to each other on the same street??? omg france get yourself togther.. so anyway in the long run its a different number nine and claudine just comes and finds me and takes me there.. voila
19h watch claudine souschef in victor's kitchen... making chocolate mousse... soo good!

20h aperatif... chips, nuts and such... followed by cannolloni.. followed by banana tartes and pineapple/coconut tarts with the star.. chocolate mousse.. oh la la!!!
22h dance dance dance to super old 80's french music
00h a not so happy neighbor yells from her window fo rus to shut up.. so being the polite person he is, vic invites this 50 something year old woman to join us in all our drinking, dancing merriment.. and just a few moments later, there martine (this lady) is knocking on the door in her pjs with a "gift" for us girls... shots of "light" liquor.. sure y not
2h one of claudine's friends takes us all home... 24h no english... success!!!
