Electric Palace and Festival Activities

8h today marks the beginning of the biggest short film festival in france (court metrage) which happens to be located in... who woulda guessed it... clermont-ferrand. every hour on the hour there are hundreds of short films being shown somewhere in clermont. people from all over the world submit their work, so the films are in a bunch of different languages.
10h30 go to the doctor's office to make an appointment for my doctor's visit... more visa bureaucracy.. and no you cannot call to make an appointment.. you must physically show urself. so i successfully scheduled the two appointments... one for an xray... in a building on the other side of town and the other, back at the main office.. for them to.. i dont know.. take my blood pressure? who knows. all i kno is if i want to leave the country by plane then i have to do this
12h cheny and i go to the gare to pick up our tickets for bordeaux! and our tickets for salamanca!!!! so excited.. its really happening
13h stop and buy pain au chocolat and croissant aux almonds on the way to class

13h10 stop and buy what we think is going to be fresh orange juice... but its fresh orange juice plus ice plus whole oranges blended in a fabulous concoction.. and because we'r in france.. it comes with a beignet!
13h30 cheny goes to class, i go home and research bordeaux hotels
17h go to "meet and greet" thing at the school
20h make spaghetti at chez tintin/boucheron
21h parker comes over and we all drink a little wine and eat these awesome cookies.. vanilla waffer on the bottom, chocolate on top and raspberry jam in the middle
22h meet allison, marie, fatima, julia, jenny, lisa, and a couple of others at bar des beaux arts
22h10 we all walk to the electric palace, a giant tent.. like circus tent sort of... it will be up for 10 days in celebration of the festival. there was a live band for about an hour, followed by a dj
2h walk home

12h swiss, ham, sauteed mushroom crepe
14h court metrage.. 5 short films.. interesting, funny, disturbing

15h30 make burgers and sweet potato fries at my house! with souschefs tintin and boucheron... and cheny, parker and chip joined us as well
16h chip and our landlord eve brought up a GIANT tv so that we can watch the super bowl monday morning at 2am!!! too excited
17h everyone leaves.. i nap
18h steph comes over for a bit
21h steph, cheny, anthony and i meet ophelie, pierre, and marianne to go ice skating!!
21h30 15 tram stops later its skatin time!
23h get really excited about the remix to the super mario brothers song.. start dancing.. and slide.. face first into the ice... in a dress.. oops

1h meet noah at place de jaude to take us to a party at miguel's... there are probably 70 people ther.. mostly internationals.. fun times
